The DETEXI Remote Handheld Client application is designed to provide connection and viewing video streams from: - Internet enabled cameras (streaming motion JPEG) - WEB Sites (specially designed for that) - Video Archive (DETEXI Server should be at Server Site) The application works in two modes: Stand-Alone and Client-Server mode and can be switched between the modes. In a Stand-Alone mode the user must be able to set up the cameras he wants to connect to. Client-Server mode supports all functionality of a Stand-Alone mode but it is much more secure. DETEXI authenticates the user to the Central Server by the User ID and Password, receives the camera database from the server and connects to the site(s) that the user is authorized to view. View and Control Camera Select the camera to view from the cameras list at the top of the handheld device screen. There are several control buttons and Zoom Control bar for PTZ-cameras: "+" increase whole image, user will see enlarged part of the image; it can be done again and again to see more details "-" decrease whole image "H" put camera to Home position "L" turn on/off the light Tool boxes on the toolbar are designed to control a multiplexer through the camera port. The command bar has a menu to change camera Resolution and to bring up Preset Position dialog. Additionally the command bar can have a combobox to control multiplexer cameras as well. To use the entire screen space of the handheld device DETEXI can rotate image by 90 degree and the user will still have PTZ control of the camera. Search Archive The Search submenu in the Archive menu requests a video stream from the archive. A special toolbar is designed to view the archive. If the client has requested Alarm Events the Server brings him the list of the events. By double clicking on the line in the event list the user can retrieve the movie of the event.
